There was some sadness that I could not share Australian Cartoonists' Event of the Year - the 2011 Workshop and Stanley Awards - with my friends from the Australian Cartoonists' Association recently.
The Winners (as announced on their web-site) were:
BRONZE STANLEY WINNERS:
Anton EMDIN - Illustrator
Gary CLARK - Comic Strip Artist
Dean ALSTON - Single Gag Cartoonist
David POPE - Editorial/Political Cartoonist
David POPE - Caricaturist
David FOLLETT - Comic Book Artist
Other Winners were:
Mike BOWERS accepted the Jim Russell Award for Services to Australian Cartooning for the ABC TV Program Insiders, specifically the weekly Talking Pictures segment.
The Winner of the Cartoon of the Night was not listed, and no Inductees into the Hall of Fame were mentioned.
The Artist of the Year Award went to David POPE
Congratulations to all Winners (and to all lucky enough to be able to attend)....
