Yay!!! Another Air Hawk collection on the way!! I can't wait.
Thanks for your detailed reply to my last post, Nat. I sure hope this won't be the last volume - for starters, I reckon a modern reprint of your other five 1990s comics using current tech would be a great and straight-forward way to make a fourth volume.
Sorry to hear that you still have a large number of unsold Vol1 and Vol2s in your garage. That must hurt. Still, can't say I'm too surprised that they don't sell at comic conventions. Maybe not the right demographic there.
Instead - have you thought about setting up an Air Hawk stand at air shows? Say, at Nowra, or at Albion Park, or at Temora (NSW)? Avalon or Point Cook (VIC?) Airfields full of warbirds, modern jet fighters, RFDS displays and thousands of captive air enthusiasts. I reckon your backlog would sell out very quickly. Google air shows and you'll see lots to choose from. Good luck!
Thanks for your encouragement and support. Your idea is a great one, and I shall give it some thought for the future. My initial plan for the next "Air Hawk" volume will be to attempt to market the book via Diamond Distributors, and get it in comic book specialty shops all around the world.. Many of my "Air Hawk" sales have been from overseas readers...from all parts of the globe. John's work was so well known and respected, and it's still sad that he has not had the same acknowledgement from his home country.
Having said that, sales continue to be steady. So, I have not given up hope! Thanks for your encouragement, Phil -- I really do appreciate it.
