Whew! Now that I have recovered from admiring David Follett's magnificent artwork (below), the serious work of preparing for the internal pages of the Third Issue of Oi Oi Oi! has begun. Some have suggested that it's a good place to be, with more contributors' stories available for the magazine than pages allow... but there is always the angst of deciding who to leave out and the sad task of having to let those artists who didn't make the cut this time around know....
AND I am also working on writing my Speech for next Saturday's National Launch of the Comicoz book Ned Kelly, Narrated and Illustrated by Monty Wedd.... I shall post a copy of the speech on this Blog on the Sunday following the launch, along with some photos of the 2014 Rotary Cartoon Awards for all Readers who are unable to attend...

Over the past decade (2011 - 2020) Nat has self-published ten comic-related books and was Publisher-Editor of Oi Oi Oi! - the last nationally-distributed comic book of original comics stories to appear on Australian newsstands. He edited Inkspot, the journal of the Australian Cartoonists Association for 14 issues from late 2015 to 2019 and is a current member of the ACA's Committee. In his spare time, he is a husband, a father (to six) and grandfather (to fourteen), and works in the Psychiatric Emergency Centre in Queensland's largest public hospital.
Comicoz is Nat Karmichael's publishing imprint. Nat is committed to preserving a permanent collection of Australian comic and comic strips. He feels that there is a need to recognise comics' contribution to and depiction of Australian culture.
