John Dixon's The Complete Air Hawk Dailies: Volume Six
John Dixon is a WINNER! He was the Stanley Award recipient for Best Illustrated/Comic Strip Artist in 1985, 1986, and 1992. And the first Ledger of Honour (Hall of Fame) recipient in the (now) Comic Arts Awards of Australia.
Everyone who has read my blog over the years will know my passion for John Dixon's newspaper comic strip Air Hawk. I'm now attempting to work on my publishing swan-song: the complete 16-volume set of the daily adventures! This volume is the first. All with the full cooperation and permission of John's family. Each volume will be produced from the original artwork (or from newspaper bromides, if the artwork cannot be found).
This hardback volume contains five complete adventures from 1970 to late 1971 and runs to 162 pages. An introduction by Australian actor/writer William McInnes and a detailed interview with John Dixon (conducted while he was alive) rounds out the volume. This book ought to be in the shelves of every Australian library and the home of every serious comic historian. "Australia's finest adventure strip." Don't believe me? You will, once you see the quality of this production!
Copies have already been sent to comic collectors around the world: from the USA, Sweden, Germany, the UK, Denmark and more! Look for the announcement of the next volume on Kickstarter. Why not add this to your collection? The print run has been limited to only 300 copies, so I advise you to purchase now before you miss out. Price includes postage, packaging (and tracking) within Australia. Overseas enquires welcome for overseas buyers.
